Family puts face to Alzheimer's disease

Posted: Updated:
Alzheimer's is a devastating disease without a cure and families in the east are having a real hard time dealing with everything that comes along with the disease. That's why "9 On Your Side is spreading awareness by sponsoring "the Alzheimer's Walk" in Greenville Saturday morning.

Here's a family to put a name to the disease. Bob Fuller, who's father Robert suffers from Alzheimer's says he appreciates his almost daily visits to his dad's new home. Fuller had to put his dad in an assisted living facility after he realized that he needed more help and organizations like Alzehimer's NC are there for just that.

"It's not a pretty picture cause the disease is irreversible. It is progressive it never goes away and it's a 24 hour, 7 day a week job." Tamyra Jovel said.

Fuller has this message. "You're not alone. Just understand that because there's a lot of people willing to help and bend over backwards for you."
