Woman arrested after Pamlico County robbery

A  Bayboro woman has been arrested and charged in connection to a Pamlico County robbery.

On November 6th, 2013 around 12:45 a.m. Deputies from the Pamlico County Sheriff’s responded to the Handy Mart Convenience Store, on Hwy 55 in Alliance, in reference to a Robbery in Progress.

The store clerk told Deputies that a white female had entered the store and demanded money.  The female then went across the counter and began to struggle with the Store Clerk.  During the struggle with the clerk, the suspect dropped a weapon behind the counter.  The suspect fled the scene with and undisclosed amount of money.

Rhiannon M. Morgan, 26, of Bayboro, was identified as the suspect from the surveillance footage at the crime scene.  Morgan was arrested a short time at her residence in Bayboro.  Morgan was placed in the Pamlico County Detention Center in lieu of a $150,000 secured bond.   Morgan’s first court appearance is Friday, November 8th, in Pamlico County District Court.
