NASHVILLE, N.C. - Two Rocky Mount men are behind bars, accused of an armed robbery at Dollar General.

It happened Tuesday night at the Red Oak Blvd. location.

Deputies say the pair entered the store, armed with a rifle, and demanded money, threatening to shoot the clerk.  On the way to the call, a deputy passed the suspect vehicle on N. Old Carriage Road and attempted to stop the vehicle. After leading the deputy on a chase, the suspects crashed the vehicle on Hunter Hill Road at Green Hills Road.

No one was injured and the passenger was taken into custody at the scene, while the driver fled on foot, leading a K-9 track through the Bunn Farm subdivision.

Rocky Mount police caught up with him Wednesday night.

They’ve charged 18-year-old Aldridge Robinson and 19-year-old Alvonta Speight with the crime. The two men were placed in the Nash County Jail under $100,000 secured bonds.
