Very light snow is possible Tuesday as a cold front moves through the region.
The snow potential looks highest for the western slopes where up to two inches could fall in western Pocahontas and Greenbrier Counties.
Eastward into the Highlands and New River Valley, the warm ground will limit snow totals. Most anything that falls will melt. The snow that does still around will mainly do so in the grass. In these areas, up to a half inch is possible.
East of the Blue Ridge, a little snow will mix in with the rain, but accumulations are not expected.
The snow will start falling in the east around 6 a.m. The eastern half of the area will not see anything until after noon. Everything should end between 4 and 5 p.m.
