Crowds fill downtown Raleigh for Christmas parade

Posted: Updated:
RALEIGH, N.C. -

The threat of rain did not stop many from packing downtown Raleigh for the 69th annual Christmas parade.

Tens of thousands lined the parade route which ran from near St. Mary's School on Hillsborough Street to the south end of Fayetteville Street.

The grand marshal of the parade was N.C. State University College of Design professor Justin LeBlanc from the television show "Project Runway."

WNCN was a participant in this parade this year with a float featuring NBC's hit show "The Voice."
