Canes player suspended for hit

RALEIGH, N.C. -

The NHL announced Tuesday that Carolina Hurricanes right wing Kevin Westgarth has been suspended without pay for two games for boarding Ottawa Senators defenseman Mark Borowiecki during Sunday's game at PNC Arena.

The incident occurred at 7:55 of the first period of Carolina's 4-1 victory against the Senators. Borowiecki was injured on the play and did not return to the game. Westgarth was penalized two minutes for boarding.
