NCPacks4Patriots needs your help

Posted: Updated:
AYDEN, N.C. - With Thanksgiving just a day away, Christmas is already on the minds of some people in Ayden.

NCPacks4Patriots is getting ready to pack up goodies to send to our troops around the world.

Barbara Whitehead says when she started sending things out she never thought it would go on this long. Her boxes contain things like DVDs, socks, ornaments and candy.

Whitehead says they still need help in many ways.

"We have still a need for the postage fund, we have a need for the items, so when people are out shopping on Black Friday go ahead and pick up some items. We need people to be on our team showing the troops that we appreciate their service and care about them year round,” said Barbara Whitehead, NCPacks4Patriots.

Here's what's still needed:

TOILETRIES:
Dental supplies, razors shaving gel in tubes, wipes, sunscreen in tubes, shampoo etc.

SNACKS AND FOOD ITEMS:
Protein powders and bars, granola bars ...Jerky .Tuna in pouches to coffee and teas.

RECREATION ITEMS:
Baseball/Softball gear, CD AND DVDs, balls, board games, books and magazines.

Other items that can be enjoyed by soldiers in tents while deployed.
