Bridgestone's Aiken County Plant To Re-Open Hiring Soon

WJBF News Channel 6 has learnewd more information concerning hiring that will soon begin at Bridgestone's Aiken County plant.

The company is re-opening the application process for Machine Technician positions on Monday, December 9th until Monday, December 16th.

The total number of positions for the entire project through 2016 is 850. The company has already hired a large portion of those positions. The true number for 2014 for this job opening is 200 positions.

Applications will only be accepted online here and only from 7:00 a.m. on Monday, December 9th until midnight on Monday, December 16th.

Those interested in applying are encouraged to do so online and to not go to the South Carolina Department of Employment Workforce (DEW). The only reason to go to DEW is if the person doesn't have a computer with internet access. No paper applications will be accepted. Any interested applicant can apply from the comfort of their own home as long as they have access to the internet.

Phase one of an expansion project at the Bridgestone Plant in Aiken County is now complete.

Soon, the hiring begins.

According to Leslie Wilhite, the manager of community and corporate relations, the company will look to fill 850 corporate and contrator positions.

The hiring is expected to begin in January. There's no word yet on what type of jobs will become available.
