Brian Bailey's Keys to Surviving Thanksgiving

Posted: Updated:

Thanksgiving Day is traditionally a big day for a sports fan.

But somehow you have to mix in all of that turkey and dressing with family and of course, FOOTBALL

So here is a little guideline to go by.

First, you should always try to eat early and map out a TV plan. If you do eat early then you won't miss out on much football. Sometimes there is a chair that faces a television. Most family will allow you to watch the games if the sound is down.

My second key is don't' be a pig. It's a long day so save some room for later. You can always have one kind of pie early, and another later on. There is a strategy involved.

You can only nap at halftime. If you nod off then you might lose control of the television remote. We all know what that could mean.

And finally, pace yourself. That's with the food and the family and the football. While most of us can handel plenty of football and food, that family stuff can wear you out. So, pace yourself.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving! Enjoy your time with family and friends and of course, FOOTBALL!
