2 charged in motel meth bust

SBI agents say they investigated a motel meth lab in Newport.
     
Police were called to the Hostess House Extended Stay Motel on Highway 70 Sunday night for a report of suspicious activity.
     
Several people were found inside a room where officers say meth was being manufactured.
     
Motel guests in nearby rooms were evacuated for their safety.

33-year-old Brandon Hobbs and 22-year-old Katie Craft were arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine precursor materials and manufacturing methamphetamine.     
     
Officers say an infant was staying in an adjacent motel room.
