Changes May Be Coming On How Alternative School Students Arrive At School

Augusta, GA -

Big changes could be on the way when it comes to school busing in Richmond County.

At a Richmond County Board of Education (RCBOE) meeting Tuesday, a Juvenile Court judge said students who go to the alternative school should be given transportation, since school is mandated as part of most probation cases.

Currently, alternative school students have to find their own rides to school.

The RCBOE is now looking to put together a plan to provide that busing, which will likely be voted on next month.
