WJBF News Channel 6 has learned that a lawsuit has been filed to stop Project Jackson.
The planned project, which would include a minor league baseball stadium for the Augusta GreenJackets, as well as other commercial development, was approved this year.
Now, Steve Donohue, who is president of the River Club Homeowner's Association, has filed a lawsuit to stop that development from happening.
The lawsuit claims the project's financing plan violates South Carolina state law. It also claims that property values will decrease because of potential traffic and congestion problems near the stadium.
We will have more details on the lawsuit Friday.
