Police: Goldsboro man put box on head, stole store's security camera

Posted: Updated:
GOLDSBORO, N.C. - A Goldsboro man put a cardboard box over his head and stole a security camera during a robbery attempt.

Officers say it happened last month at the T-Mart #2 on West Grantham Street.

53 year old Roger Raynor is accused of first damaging the camera. When that didn't work, he stole the camera and then tried to break into the store.

Police say he was unsuccessful.

The owner recognized the man in the security footage and reported the crime to police on Nov. 10.

Raynor was arrested on Thursday. Police charged him with felony attempted breaking and entering and misdemeanor larceny. He was issued a $500 secured bond, pending his first court appearance on Dec. 16.
