NC authorities investigate series of rapes

Posted: Updated:

Authorities in Robeson County are looking into four rape cases in the town of Parkton in a seven-day period.

WMBF of Myrtle Beach, S.C., reports that one of the victims was a 17-year-old girl. Officials allege that attack occurred on Wednesday.

The Robeson County Sheriff's Office has four reported rape cases in the Parkton area from Dec. 4 to Dec. 11. In addition to the reported rapes, there have been a series of assaults.

Deputies believe the cases are connected, but do not believe the victims were randomly targeted.
