3 charged in Big Daddy's Pizzeria armed robbery, 2nd weekend incident

Three men are in the Greenville Police Department's custody after two separate armed robberies.

Investigators say two of the men robbed the Big Daddy's Pizzeria on E. 10th Street. The other was waiting outside in a getaway car. When witnesses spotted the armed suspects fleeing the scene, they made note of the vehicle description and gave it to arriving officers. Within 9 minutes, GPD officers stopped the vehicle at a nearby Shell gas station and took the men into custody.

Police say they've arrested and charged 22 year old Timothy Jones, 20 year old Rodney Whitehurst, and 23 year old Elijah Williams. Police say the vehicle and items inside were submitted as evidence in the crime.

Detectives also determined Williams and Whitehurst were involved in an armed robbery on December 14 at East 3rd Street. Around 1:47 a.m., several people were standing in the backyard around a fire pit when they were robbed by four armed suspects who took off with cash, credit cards, and a phone.
