Carteret commissioners to talk more money for school costs

Posted: Updated:
BEAUFORT, N.C. - Carteret County commissioners will meet tonight to talk about whether the school system should get more taxpayer dollars to cover cost.

The school district wants commissioners to approve $500,000 from a contingency fund.

Superintendent Dan Novey says the school system needs the money to pay for 3 teachers and a technology assistant.

Several commissioners aren't confident the district truly needs the money.

They'll meet tonight at 6 o'clock.
