December 16 is predicted to be the busiest day for the USPS with more than 15 billion pieces of mail will be delivered this month alone.
If you want to have your cards and packages get there in time for Christmas here are some dates to remember:
Dec. 17 is the last day to ship to family members serving in the military.
First class mail needs to go out by Dec. 20 and priority mail has to go out the day after that.
Procrastinators can send your packages priority express by Dec. 23 and still get there in time for Christmas. First-Class Mail Service needs to go out by Dec. 20 and Priority Mail® Service needs to go out by Dec. 21.
Many stores offer free shipping.
If you ship by Dec. 16 on Amazon your package should get delivered on time.
Walmart is offering free delivery in time for Christmas on select items ordered by Dec. 17.
Target is promising delivery by Dec. 24 if you order by Dec. 19 and choose seasonal shipping at checkout.
Best Buy: Place a qualifying order by 3 p.m. ET on December 20 and get your package on time with standard shipping.
