Krispy Kreme rezoning approved by Roanoke City Council

Posted: Updated:

A moment that perhaps the entire city of Roanoke has been waiting for, Roanoke City Council officially gave the green light on the return of the Krispy Kreme doughnut shop Monday evening.

City leaders unanimously approved rezoning for a new Krispy Kreme store.

The doughnut company plans to demolish the old Appliance Outlet store off of Hershberger Road, next to K&W cafeteria.

The new store will include a drive-thru based upon Krispy Kreme's prototype design in North Carolina.
