Augusta Commissioners voted Tuesday to make some changes to its Tax Allocation Districts.
City leaders approving a scaled back TAD for downtown.
The district carved out of a much larger area is made up of less than 300 parcels and includes the new hotel that is now under construction on Broad Street, and the 15th Street corridor.
The Commisison also voted to do away with another TAD that included more than 9,000 parcels spread out over a large section of the Garden City.
TADs allow developers to take money from increasing property values and put it into infrastructure like sidewalks, street work, and drainage to provide incentives to developers to build in the area.
