The world's largest fertilizer company is helping out the Augusta community. Potash Corp is giving $500,000 to 60 local community organizations.
The company already has given $180,000.
Receiving organizations range from family support to education and health... all areas that the company says touch the community.
Edmund Thompson is the Asst. General Manager of Potash:
"Employees come from these communities, their families live in these communities, so the one thing we need to do is to be a participant in making these communities better, so that is why we contribute to these various charitable organizations."
Potash Corp has a plant here in Augusta. It is the largest producer of nitrogen-based chemicals in the state of Georgia.
