Man charged in fatal shooting outside Southern Pines store

SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. -

Southern Pines Police charged a man Monday morning in a fatal shooting outside the Lowe's Home Improvement store at 10845 U.S. Highway 15/501.

Greggory Michael Bohlander, 23, of West End is charged with involuntary manslaughter in the death of Cravis Maurice Weathers Jr., 23, of Aberdeen.

Southern Pines Police said in a statement that the two men knew each other and agreed to meet in the Lowe's parking lot around 9 p.m. Sunday. The store was closed at the time.

Bohlander appeared before a Moore County Magistrate on Monday, and was being held in the Moore County Detention Center under a $500,000 secured bond pending a hearing on January 14, 2014 in Moore County District Court.

Police did not provide more details about what led to the shooting. The investigation is ongoing, so the statement asked anyone with information about what happened to contact the Southern Pines Police Department. All information provided will remain confidential and can be provided anonymously, according to the statement.
