Richmond County deputies were on a special mission this Christmas Eve day.
Sheriff Richard Roundtree, deputies, and even Santa delivered a truckload of goodies to several homes around the area.
About 1500 toys were delivered in the 9th year of the Sheriff's Office Toy Giveaway.
Lt. Lewis Blanchard says it not only spreads holiday joy, but helps strengthen law and neighborhood relationships.
"So many times in the areas that we go to the children see us in a negative light because of the job we're having to do at the time…this gives them an opportunity to see us in a positive light and hopefully break down some barriers and open up conversation."
At the last minute, the RCSO received a donation of an extra 300 toys from the Family Y.
