Augusta, GA -

Now that Christmas is over, when you do take down the tree, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is asking you to recycle.

The Corps says they are accepting used real Christmas trees through January 8th.

They will turn them into a habitat for fish in Thurmond Lake.

You will need to make sure all decorations are removed from your tree before you turn it in.

For more information, you can contact the Thurmond Lake Project Office at 1-800-533-3478.
