2nd suspect wanted in New Year's Day shooting

Greenville police need your help to identify a man wanted for a New Year’s Day shooting.

They're looking for the man caught on surveillance cameras in the area of 4th Street and Evans.
    
Two groups of people shot at each other and only damaged property.
    
They've got one man in custody, but are looking for the second suspect.
    
If you know who or where he is, police want you to call them.

Greenville police say that a 21-year-old has been charged in a gun battle that happened in downtown Greenville overnight. The shots fired resulted in a window being shattered at Bradshaw’s Department Store. Police also say a nearby vehicle was also hit.

Police arrested Eddie Battle and charged him with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill. He is being held at the Pitt County Detention Center under a $100,000 bond.

Police say the investigation is still ongoing, and they are confident there will be more arrests.

Greenville Police say they responded to shots being fired near  4th Street and Evans Street around 2:00 am.

They say it appears two groups exchanged gunfire and no one was hurt. Police say officers were on scene within seconds and detained three subjects for questioning. At least one business and one vehicle was damaged by the gunfire.
