Man faces 5 charges after leading officers on early morning chase

57-year old Daniel Honeycutt is facing five charges after leading Johnson City Police on a chase early Wednesday morning.

At 1:52 Wednesday morning, an officer spotted Honeycutt driving over 90mph on Roan Street.

When the officer pulled Honeycutt over and asked him for his ID and keys he refused and revved his engine. The officer then attempted to pull Honeycutt out of the car, which prompted him to speed off with two passengers inside.

Two other officers joined in on the pursuit for about a mile until Honeycutt parked his car on Glendale Road and then ran away on foot.

Officers attempted to use a tazer on Honeycutt but were unsuccessful. Officers then found him inside a nearby house on the couch and was arrested.

Honeycutt is being charged with reckless endangerment, reckless driving, evading arrest, speeding, and resisting arrest.
