ECU men and women's basketball teams close out non-conference play

Posted: Updated:
GREENVILLE, N.C. -

The ECU men's basketball team looks to avoid their 3rd straight loss, as the Pirates hit the road to take on the Campbell Camels tonight at 7 p.m.

It's never an easy place to play, in fact, ECU has never won in Buies Creek. For whatever reason the Camels have had the Pirates number the past couple of seasons, including an overtime win in Greenville just last season. Tonight the purple and gold have a chance to reverse that trend.

The Pirates are taking on the Camels for the 58th time in program history and ECU leads the overall series 37-20. It's been all Campbell of late. The Camels have won 3 of 4 against the Pirates.

That will be the last non-conference game for the guys and the women wrap up that portion of their schedule tonight as well.

Led by sophomore sensation Jada Payne, the Lady Pirates will play College of Charleston down in the palmetto state. ECU is already 11 and 1 on the season, marking one of their best starts in program history.

The Pirates and the Cougars tip off at 7 p.m. and we hope to have all the highlights here on 9 on Your Side at 11!
