Agency, big box retailer collect broken Christmas lights

Posted: Updated:
GREENVILLE, N.C. - With the tree recycled, what to do with the lights that didn't last the season? You can recycle those also.
Martin Enterprises has teamed up with eastern North Carolina Walmart stores to collect the failed lights for recycling.
All you need to do is drop them in the marked containers and that will help Martin Enterprises in their non-profit work, helping people with disabilities find jobs.

"We started it last year,” said Susan Daughtry, Martin Enterprises. “We're fortunate to work with Waste Industries. They donated all the roll carts. Now we're working with Walmart. They've donated the space.”

The carts will be out until next week if you want to drop them off. Walmart stores from Nags Head west are taking part.
