Man accused of obtaining heating fuel vouchers fraudulently

WASHINGTON, N.C. - A Washington man is accused of using a fraudulent letter to obtain public assistance heating fuel vouchers.

68-year-old Franklin Delano Marshall is charged with Obtaining Property by False Pretense.

Deputies say he was arrested January 14 after an investigation into a report of fraud from a business located on Cherry Lane.

Marshall was released on a $5,000 unsecured bond.

However, the investigation is ongoing and additional charges are expected.
