Four arrested in Beaufort County drug bust

WASHINGTON, N.C. - The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office has arrested four men after executing a search warrant.

On January 16, 2014, Investigators with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit executed a Search Warrant at 992 Elm Street in Belhaven.  Investigators found 253 grams of a mixture of powder cocaine and crack cocaine with an estimated street value of $37,950, 91 grams of high grade marijuana with an estimated street value of $1,820, digital scales, packaging material and $1,408 in cash.

James McCabe, 42, of Belhaven and David Topping, 43, of Belhaven were arrested and charged with Trafficking in Cocaine, Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Cocaine, Maintaining a Dwelling to Keep or Store a Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  McCabe and Topping were confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $200,300 secured bond.

Michael Sutton, 37, of  Belhaven was arrested and charged with Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Marijuana, Maintaining a Vehicle to Keep or Store a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  Sutton was confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $50,000.00 secured bond.

Vincent Slade, 39, of Pinetown was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  Slade was detained in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $2,000 secured bond.
