Conway man arrested in shooting death

Conway Police arrested a man wanted in connection with a murder from last week.

According to Lt. Selena Small, Barry Bethea, 21, of Conway was arrested Thursday afternoon for the shooting death of Joey Pyatt Jr.

Police were called to a shooting on January 6 near Pitman Street and Woodward Drive.

Pyatt, 23, was found shot and taken to Conway Medical Center where he later died.

According to J Reuben Long Detention Center bookings, Bethea was charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.  Bethea is currently being held in jail without bond.
