GLENVILLE, N.Y. – Just hours after a Glenville dispatcher helped an expectant father deliver his daughter on the side of the road, another dispatcher helped deliver a second baby.

Glenville Police Dispatcher JoAnne McPhail received the 911 call at 3:25 a.m. from Luis Cruz. He stated that his 27 year old wife, Megan, was about to deliver their baby.

McPhail was able to talk Cruz through the delivery. Baby girl Abigail was born at 3:29 a.m. Abigail and Megan were transported to the hospital and are reported to be in great condition.

The Cruz family was caught by surprise -- Abigail wasn't due until January 24.

She said she woke her husband at 3 a.m. to let him know it was time to get to the hospital -- but there was just one problem.

"I realized that we did not have time. I ran back to my bedroom, on my bed, that she's coming now. And he didn't believe me at first," she said.

Megan's husband dialed 911.

"I tried calling about four times. I just kept hitting 9 and send because I was so nervous," he said.

He finally was able to dial 911 and get a Glenville dispatcher on the line. The 29-year-old says he stayed calm through the whole delivery process thanks to a trained dispatcher giving him step-by-step directions.

"I delivered the baby- by the time I dried her up and put her on to mom EMS was there to take over so I couldn't step back and take a breather."

This was the same 911 dispatch center that helped another father deliver his baby on the side of the road less than 24 hours before in Glenville.

On Friday afternoon, Public Safety Dispatcher Laurie Fredricks received a 911 call from Justin Rapp who said his wife was about to deliver their baby in their car as they were in the roundabout on Glenridge Road.

Five minutes into the call, and with both Fredricks help and assistance from a Glenville Police Lieutenant, Rapp's daughter Jadley was born.

Both The families said they are grateful for the dispatchers and first responders that helped them.
