Circus brings tricks to the stage and the kitchen

BIRMINGHAM, AL - The Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus is in town this week at the BJCC.

While you'll see tricks on the stage, there are also some creations being unveiled behind the scenes in the kitchen.

This morning, the circus invited the media to dine in the "Pie Car."

That's where the circus family eats daily when they're on the road.

This morning, Alabama's 13 got the chance to check out Chef Matt Loory, an Atlanta native, serve up tasty dishes for the crew.

Loory cooks more than"five hundred pounds of food in one day for performers from more than 30 countries," according to a news release.

He does it from a kitchen the "size of a food truck."

The train is parked at train yard near downtown.

His menu included grits, bacon, sausage and pancakes.
