BLOUNTVILLE, TN (WJHL) - Deputies with the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office responded to a home in Blountville late Thursday night after they received a call about a rape and aggravated kidnapping of an elderly woman.

According to a SCSO news release, officers responded to the home, where the woman said she was in bed and heard a male voice tell her to turn over.

She told police the man was standing over her holding a gun and said his face was covered to hide his identity.

According to the release, the woman said she was raped and then forced to take a shower. The man then reportedly took cash from the woman, as well as a 50-inch TV.

The man then told the woman to get into her truck, he got into the driver's side and then drove to a convenience store on Highway 126 in Bristol, where he made the woman get out of the truck.

The man then reportedly drove off and the woman was able to go to a nearby home to call for help.

According to the release, the woman was taken to Bristol Regional Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The woman's truck was later found crashed along Vance Street in Bristol, Va.

According to the report, the man has not been found and anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call the SCSO at 279-7331.
