Greenville Couple Faces Abuse Charges After Baby Found Injured

Greenville Police says a couple faces abuse charges after their 19 day old daughter was injured.

Police say 20 year old Stephen Michael Simes admitted during the early morning hours of January 22nd he fell on top of his 19 day old baby daughter while she was being held by her mother, 19 year old Anna Sophia Warren, and blackened her eyes.

They say the baby was admitted to Greenville Memorial Hospital on January 29th with facial bruising.

Police say there were severe injuries to the baby, including broken bones.

They say a skeletal survey and MRI were done on the infant.

The baby is currently in the state's custody.

Officers say Simes and Warren both faces counts of abuse to inflict great bodily injury upon a child.

Greenville Police say both were arrested on February 5th and released the same day.
