HATTIESBURG, Miss. - About 30 kids have brand new smiles after dental students from Pearl River Community College spent the morning teaching them about dental hygiene.
It's a part of the "Give Kids a Smile" initiative.
Dozens of children who are a part of the Salvation Army's Boys and Girls club stopped by PRCC's dental hygiene office Friday.
Student volunteers cleaned their teeth and gave them hygiene tips.
Local dentists involved in the program says it's important to teach kids early about oral care.
