ECU WR Danny Webster Arrested

Posted: Updated:
GREENVILLE, N.C. - Pirate WR Danny Webster just cant seem to stay out of trouble. Last season Webster was suspended indefinitely for a violation of team rules and on Saturday he was arrested for DWI.

Greenville police say at about 1 a.m. Webster was spotted traveling westbound on E. 10th St. toward E. 5th St. The car was swerving from left to right.  Webster was pulled over in the parking lot of St. Peter’s Catholic Church.  After several failed attempts at a breathalyzer test, the officer obtained a search warrant for blood to be drawn and a sample was taken and submitted to the SBI to determine Webster’s blood alcohol content.

The ex-Havelock star was placed in jail under a $500 bond.

According to the ECU Athletics Department, Webster has been participating in off-season workouts. Coach Ruffin McNeill was unavailable for comment but is expected to meet with Webster before announcing any disciplinary action.

I would argue we live in one of the best places to cover football. At the high school level our teams always win state championships, then you get to see many of those players excel in college.
