Posted: Updated:
One man is dead and three others are recovering after a single car wreck in Carteret County.

The accident took place on Bayshore Lane in Cedar Island just after 3 am Sunday morning, according to Trooper Morrison.

Trooper Morrison said the 1994 Chevy truck extended cab lost control and hit a tree.

The front seat passenger, 43-year-old Jeremy Fulcher, died at the scene. Fulcher is from Harkers Island.

The other three people in the car, 41-year-old Paul Fulcher, 25-year-old Hugh Willis Jr., and a 15-year-old female were transported to Carteret General with non-life threatening injuries.

The Trooper said that speed and impairment were a factor.

Trooper Morrison said Paul Fulcher, the driver of the truck, was impaired. Charges are pending against him.
