JONES CO -- The Sheriff's Department needs your help catching a thief.
Jimmy Cushman and Marty Breazeale broke into Nabors Drilling in the Pendorf community about five times in the last three weeks, authorities said.
"Four of those occasions they took out copper wire, transformers, radiators and aluminum and stuff like that," Sgt. Keith Leroy said.
The last time, they took about $30,000 worth of materials. A lady from the community saw their vehicle and the figures moving around in the field. She got their tag number and called police, but the men left before they arrived.
But shortly after, a local scrap yard informed police that the men were trying to sell the transformers.
Later...police arrested Cushman, but Breazeale is still at large.
"Larcenies, especially the copper because copper's going for a good price right now is pretty common. It happens a lot," Leroy said.
Cushman and Breazeale were getting into the yard because of a fence that had fallen in one spot. Leroy encourages businesses like this to check their fences.
"Make sure they're up and their locks on their gates and everything are working properly," Leroy said. "They've got to make sure if they've got security cameras, make sure they're working properly and all to help us out."
Marty Breazeale, 39, is an Ellisville resident. He's 5 ft. 9 in. and weighs 160 pounds. Anyone with information about his whereabouts should call the Jones County Sheriff's Department at 601-425-3147.
