Police: KFC attempted robbery suspect caught

New Bern Police say a man is in custody after attempting to rob a fast food restaurant.

Police say they received a call about an attempted armed robbery at the KFC restaurant on Neuse Boulevard just after 10 o'clock Friday night.

When police arrived the suspect 28-year-old Nicholas Delucca took off running. Police were able to catch up with him a few blocks away and place him under arrest. 

Delucca was found with a knife on him. It is unknown if the knife was used in the attempted robbery.

Police say no money was taken and no one was injured during the incident.

Delucca is being charged with attempted armed robbery and resist, obstruct, and delay an officer. 

He is being held in the Craven County Jail under a $25,000 bond.
