"Suspicious" person report ends in drug arrest

Johnson City police were dispatched to East Unaka Ave. and Roosevelt Street on a "suspicious" person report Saturday evening, that's where they found Ronald Collins, 38.

According to police, Collins became extremely agitated and apprehensive toward them and appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance or alcohol.

Once under arrest, police tell News Channel 11 they searched Collins and found syringes and a substance believed to be meth.

Collins is facing several charges, including: General Delivery for a Schedule II Drug Violation, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Resisting Arrest and Public Intoxication.

Collins was taken to the Washington County Detention Center on a $3,500 bond. He is scheduled to be in court Monday at 9:00 A.M.
