New Bern Walmart Neighborhood Market moves closer to completion

NEW BERN, N.C. - A new Walmart Neighborhood Market in New Bern, scheduled to open this spring, is moving closer to completion.

The 41,000-square-foot store is located at 2915 Neuse Blvd. It will include a full line of groceries and an assortment of general merchandise.

Associated are already  stocking shelves in preparation for the store's grand opening.

“With major construction complete, we’re in the home stretch for our grand opening,” said store manager Angela Ross. “We’re proud of our new store and look forward to welcoming members of the community to come visit us.”

Walmart needs up to 95 associates to work at the new Walmart Neighborhood Market in New Bern.

It’s scheduled to open this spring at Neuse Boulevard and South Glenburnie Road.

A temporary hiring center has opened at 1315 S. Glenburnie Road.

Applications will be accepted from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Interested applicants may also apply online at http://careers.walmart.com.  

Through Walmart’s Veterans Welcome Home Commitment, the company will offer a job to any qualified veteran who has been honorably discharged within the past 12 months. Interested veterans may find out more at http://walmartcareerswithamission.com.

Angela Ross, store manager, says they’ll be hiring both full- and part-time associates.

“We are excited to add the first Walmart Neighborhood Market to New Bern and bring good jobs with great career opportunities to the area,” said Ross.

Most of the new associates will begin work in March to help prepare for the store’s grand opening.

Veterans must be within 12 months of active duty and meet Walmart’s standard hiring criteria.
