More than 40 charged in Duplin Co. drug round-up

KENANSVILLE, N.C. - A drug round-up in Duplin County landed 41 people behind bars.

The Duplin County Sheriff’s Office conducted the round-up Friday morning. The operation apprehended several individuals for narcotic violations throughout Duplin County, after a ten month investigation.

The round-up operation was conducted by the Duplin County Sheriff’s Office, Beulaville Police, Wallace Police, Warsaw Police, North Carolina Probation and Parole, and the State Bureau Investigations.

The round-up was centered on drug dealers selling illegal narcotics in the county. The Sheriff’s Office and assisting agencies purchased substances including crack cocaine, powder cocaine, methamphetamine, marijuana and prescription pills.

Charges range from simple possession to trafficking and manufacturing. Other individuals apprehended in the operation were charged for being in possession of illegal narcotics.

The 41 people charged have bonds ranging from $5,000 to $15,000.
