The Wilson Police Department uses a phone app to catch a robbery suspect.

On Wednesday police received a call about a man being robbed at gunpoint. The victim was robbed of his phone as he got off a bus on Reid Street.

When officers arrived they used the “Find my iPhone” app to locate the suspect. Within 21 minutes police were able to locate and arrest Demetrius Kelly on Airport Boulevard.

Police found the gun in the suspect’s car. The gun turned out to be a bb gun.

Police charged Kelly with armed robbery and placed him under a $10,000 bond.
