Normally when you do a story about a shark you do a stand-up on the beach but not this time.  See these fishermen don't want to tell me where their fishing hole is.  It's not just to protect their spot

ELIZABETHTON, TN (WJHL) - An undercover operation by the Elizabethton Police Department has led to the arrest of five people allegedly involved in prostitution activity.

"Citizens mentioned that it may be going on," said Major Shannon Peters with the Elizabethton Police Department.

Shannon says undercover investigators made contact with people who were reportedly advertising online for escort services, but were suspected to be involved in prostitution. The website the people used was backpage.com.

The investigators met the people at a pre-determined location, and had an agreement – verbally and through electronic communications – that the parties involved would exchange money for sexual acts.

"We contacted the ads on the escort site of that site then there was some communication between our CI and the prostitutes and they agreed on the amount of money and location," said Shannon.
According to the press release, Chidera Akabuo, 23, 2208 S. Greenwood Drive; Michelle Reeves, 29, Austin Springs Road; and Chelsey Dalton, 24, 1909 Cherokee Road, all of Johnson City, were charged. Akabuo and Reeves were charged for promoting prostitution and Dalton was charged for prostitution.

Austin Bowers, 32, 545 Duncan Lane, of Chuckey, and Eddie J. Jones, 53, 1411 Ridgecrest Road of Johnson City, were both summoned for patronizing prostitution.

All five people are scheduled to appear in court on April 1.
