Saturday (February 22), The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will temporarily alter traffic patterns in the Route 19 work zone at Wardell in Tazewell County, near Southwest Virginia Community College, to perform bridge repairs.

During daylight hours Saturday, traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction in the northbound lanes of Route 19, leaving the southbound lanes closed for repairs to the bridge.

Additionally, anticipate traffic pattern changes Saturday at the intersection of Wardell Road and Kents Ridge Road.  Only right turns will be allowed from these routes onto Route 19 and only right turns onto these routes will be allowed from Route 19.

Motorists should allow extra travel time and pay close attention to signs leading traffic through the area.
