KINGSPORT, TN (WJHL) - Girl Scout cookies have arrived in the Tri-Cities!

Today troop leaders gathered in Kingsport to pick up their boxes of cookies.  Troops will first distribute cookies to those who pre-ordered them. Then booths will be set up starting Friday.

If cookies aren’t really your thing, you can buy cookies to send to members of our military overseas, as part of Operation Appreciation.

“When our service men and women open up those boxes, they’ll send us emails and pictures and they talk about how it’s like opening up a box of home, because the Girl Scout cookie is such an iconic piece of America,” said Booth Kammann with the Girl Scouts of America.

Operation Appreciation aims to send 20,000 boxes of cookies to troops overseas.

To find out where Girl Scout cookie booths are set up, head to iwantcookies.org and type in your zip code.
