A man is in jail after allegedly robbing another man at gunpoint when meeting to make a deal from Craigslist.
According to an affidavit, Javonta Perkins, 18, contacted the seller of a pair of Air Jordans on Saturday.
Perkins and the seller agreed on a price and the possible trade of firearms.
The two met at the suspect's grandmother's house on Dozier Place at 10:30 p.m. Saturday and got in the seller's vehicle.
While the two were discussing the shoes and a gun the seller had brought for the trade, Perkins quickly pulled out a weapon from his waistband and pointed it at the victim and said, "Give me the rest of your [expletive]."
Perkins took the victim's shoes, his driver's license and the pistol the seller brought with him.
He then got out of the car and told the victim to get away from the scene.
After the victim called police, authorities showed up to Perkins' home. They found him wearing the shoes he had just stolen. Once inside the home, officers were able to locate all the weapons involved in the robbery and the victim's driver's license.
Perkins was charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon.
Perkins also stole four other pairs of Air Jordans on February 13 of this year. He did not use a gun in that robbery but told the victim he had one on him.
When found by police after that robbery he was also wearing shoes he had just stolen.
Perkins was released from jail on February 19.
