Deer trapped on ice-covered river

Posted: Updated:
Ice cover on the Allegheny River north of Parker, Pennsylvania has left a pair of deer trapped.

You can see the deer pacing back and forth on a huge chunk of ice, looking for a way off.

But the ice is just too unstable and too dangerous to try to rescue them.

In the summer, water levels are low enough for animals to walk across.
