Members of the Boone Lake Association were taking advantage of the beautiful weather Monday, to clean up debris on the shores of Boone Lake.
The sound of chainsaws filled the air, as crews worked to cut up and remove old logs and limbs, that had fallen in the lake near Winged Deer Park.
With TVA completing repairs on Boone Dam, now is a rare opportunity for the Boone Lake association to clean-up areas that are usually underwater.
According to Ron Siegfried with Boone lake Association, "We're getting more logs out of here than we ever have because a lot of these logs have been sunken over the years. so we're actually dragging them up and cutting them up so they won't float up once the water comes up so...yeah very important right now."
If you would like to help clean up Boone Lake, the Boone Lake Association will be holding a "Lake Clean Up Day" on April 26th.
The clean-up will last from 9 a-m to 3 p-m, with cash prizes being offered to those that help with the clean-up.
