Dudley man accused of statutory rape

GOLDSBORO, N.C. - A Dudley man is accused of statutory rape.

Deputies say 22-year-old Jervon Demonte Darden is charged with two counts of Statutory Rape against a Person who is 13,14,15 years old by a defendant who is at least six years older than the victim.

His arrest follows an investigation into a report of rape on February 5 to the Goldsboro Police Department. Investigators say the incident happened outside the city limits and led them to Darden.

He was placed under a $500,000 secured bond.
